I guess I'm the first to say that I like the poster edge. The color diference is minimal and it brings more definition and sharpness to the leaves.

Two shots of the same trail.
"A"

"B"

I'm wondering if the tree helps or hinders.

I think the tree in shot "B" hinders the movement of the eye a bit; the tree stops the eye and demands to be looked at, so the movement into the center of the shot, along the path is not quite as natural and easy as it is, in shot "A". However that by no means makes it less of an appealing shot! I like them both very much for different reasons.

I tend to prefer shot 'A' better although I know I often shoot pics with trees in the foreground as you've done in shot 'B'. As SJ has mentioned, there's nothing wrong with shot 'B', it's just that I tend to like 'A' a little bit better.

I love "A" this is my fav. type of shot

Andy,
With the first two I liked A better, the added info in B doesn't add anything to the photo.
In the second group I liked B, the additional stuff in the forground seems to better balance the photo.

Thanks folks. I agree A is a shade more pleasant. Maybe if the tree in B was farther back it might be less of a jolt.
I snapped 6 trail shots that day, only this one had a tree in the foreground. Something different.

I took this same shot in color and BW. Can't decide which I like better. It was the shadows on the grass that caught my attention. Any thoughts? Here's A:

Here's B:

Or..neither? Boring?

Although the colors are lovely in A, I think B grabs me more.

Hard decision for me, I love the colors, but I must agree with Bebop and say the b&w version is more compelling! (love the star effect made by the sun!)

"B" seems more intriguing.

gorgeous! I love your creek shots! Great pov here, and I love those snow-covered, leaning trees! The filter emphasizes the edges to give this a crisp look!
