This is a spot to post those little observations and thoughts that fleet across the mind.
It's too windy to shoot any pics so I'm sitting on the patio on this warm Spring afternoon. The air is scented with apple blossoms, the birds are singing and Sarah is resting in the shade after another 'kibble-cicle' (Kibble laced ice cubes).
The front lawn needs mowing and there are lots of plants that need planting. Maybe tomorrow, lol. I feel lazy right now.
This is my 'patio', lol. It's really the table and chair I move around to chase the sun or shade.
Andy P - looks and sounds wonderful there. And, Sarah has her own treat, that's so cute. Your patio is picture perfect and nice that it's portable, too.
Let's see....this morning I took a drive and went about 25 miles north of Palmer. The road has some windy places as it climbs out of the Matanuska Valley. Then, it goes parallel to the Matanuska River for miles. I pulled off to take some photos, most trees are still bare; a small sunny ridge did have some birch with color showing.
I still am in awe of this country and love the changing scene...there is fresh snow on the mts and its soo cool, 52*F, and refreshing. The air is pure, and lacks any scent other than, fresh...There is very little traffic yet, the tourism "season" starts in a couple of weeks, so for now, it's a very quiet time, time to just take in all of mother nature's finest efforts.
There is no better fragrance than "fresh". The great outdoors kind of 'fresh'. I've spent time is the woods of northern New Hampshire & Maine, that's fresh, too. Love it.
It's getting dry around here, no rain in a couple of weeks. Rosie, are you OK? I hear there is lots of rain down your way. Deb, are you getting any?
I've had to water the perennial flower beds, unusual for May. This dry spell makes all the Spring bulbs bloom at once and fade quickly. Boooo.
We've had a total of 2.5" of rain since early April. We did have about 3/10" a couple of days ago thanks to sub-tropical storm Andrea. I am out there after work every evening watering. You may recall the big Pile O' Dirt we spread early this spring? I put down grass seed over all of it. Grass seen don't grow w/out water. :)
That said, I enjoy the time I spend watering the garden. It's very relaxing. :)

A lovely retreat Andy, I was just thinking that every time I go out to get a close-up the wind starts. I love being in my yard. The sounds from the fountain and the birds is just so relaxing. Here is a shot of my retreat. Bubbles is getting a cool drink.
Love your yards... My gardens one is contained and the other ever growing.. I would much like to have gardens everywhere but my husband thinks we need cars..lol.. I live in 5 acres three of it I mow... Room for the kids and grandkids to run... Doing fine thanks for asking but flooding all around me.. Staying on high ground.. Today is suppose to be the last day of the rain for a while hurray..............
Rosie, glad to know you are OK. It was just last year when we had floods. I had to take the long way around to go anywhere. I was glad to be in the new house, my old house was pumping out the basement.
The Lilacs are showing color now. While walking Sarah I smelled them before I saw them, lol.
I have to take a shot of my white ones. A very old bush that is going through it's second major cut-back. You know, the 'prune one third' back each year for 3 years. I wouldn't have to be so brutal if I trimmed them each year. Lazy I guess.
gorgeous! I love your creek shots! Great pov here, and I love those snow-covered, leaning trees! The filter emphasizes the edges to give this a crisp look!
