This is a spot to post those little observations and thoughts that fleet across the mind.
It's too windy to shoot any pics so I'm sitting on the patio on this warm Spring afternoon. The air is scented with apple blossoms, the birds are singing and Sarah is resting in the shade after another 'kibble-cicle' (Kibble laced ice cubes).
The front lawn needs mowing and there are lots of plants that need planting. Maybe tomorrow, lol. I feel lazy right now.
This is my 'patio', lol. It's really the table and chair I move around to chase the sun or shade.
How dumb can one be?
I had a pin hole leak in a water pipe repaired Wednesday. It was the hot water coming out of the water heater. The plumber had to un-plug the tank to repair the pipe and he forgot to plug it back in. It's a gas fired, power vent tank. It will not turn on without electricity.
I had a luke warm shower this morning (Saturday) and got worried. Until I checked the tank, and plugged it in. lol. Now I know it stays hot/warm for 2 days+.
The Northern Orioles had a big fight yesterday. Three of them were shouting , 2 were fighting. It must have been territorial. They appear to eat the bugs off the fruit trees. My poor fruit trees, I have to wait for all the flower petals to drop before I can spray again. The nasty caterpillars are feasting on the apple. The birds are feasting on the caterpillars.
Here is the best shot I could get with them moving so fast. It was way up, a bit out of range for my camera.
And a worse one in the Maple during a stand-off. The second bird is barely visible.
I'll never win awards for these shots, lol.
Hi Andy
I have seen this photo before and it is nice to see it again,I like the flowers growing around the bird bath and Sarah under that beautiful tree.I have just got back from holiday as you know and the weather in the uk is wet windy and rained since I have been home the grass is very long there is so much to do to bring the garden up to scratch never mind the world was not made in a day.I dont want the garden to be a chore as I I get so much pleasure from it
That's right, John. Never let the garden become a chore. I often think I have planted more than I can maintain. Somehow things get done. I just spent 40 minutes watering. It's been unusually dry. I have this cool lever action water wand that works wonders at putting down lots of water gently.
I keep a close eye on what is coming up in the perennial beds. There are always die-backs and unexpected volunteers. Adjustments must be made, lol.
You are lucky you can laze around chasing the sun and the shade. The freedom of not having to do anything on some days is something all of us treasure.
Nisheedhi, the lazy days are not always wanted. Days off are days with no pay. I'm self-employed.
I certainly enjoy the free time but the 'cash flow' suffers. lol
Thanks, all. It's one of the few pieces I can still play. Sadly, I sold our piano last year. Wasn't able to bring myself to give them my music along with.
