Daily Pics

Good morning all - it's been a while since I've started one of these! It's cold this morning, we even had a few snow flurries overnight, but nothing that made it to the ground.

DH and I recently re-discovered our bicycles, and have been spending much of our precious free time the past month cycling in the wonderful parks we have around here. It's been great exercise and a nice way to enjoy the peak autumn color, that is now waning. I've been wearing my camera around my neck while I ride, so I hope my confidence in my riding skill is not overrated - one good spill could break my camera, to say nothing of body parts! These shots were taken on one of our recent weekend outings:
Canada Geese:

Burning Bush (Euonymus):

We had a light dusting of snow this morning (less than the 1 inch accumulation that was predicted) and it's cold and gray. We're supposed to get some sun later that should last through Tuesday. I don't believe it!

SJ, love the geese and the euonymous. Ours is all gone except for the berries which are really pretty. I sure hope you are careful on that bicycle for your camera and yourself! It's a great way to see your world.

I recognize that point of view on those Canada Geese, Susan!

Thank you for taking us with you on your rides, we very much enjoy the scenery.

Amazingly it would seem that we are having better weather at the moment than the three of you. Dipped to almost 30 last evening, it's been in the mid-60's here, and expected to be the same, again today.

We went over the pass to join some friends for dinner last evening. We just knew we were coming back "home" when we were greeted with about a hundred Elk on the road as we came back. That is very much an abnormally large size herd for this time of year. My story: They missed me while I was away, and were gathering to come looking for me! ;-)

nice autumn leaf pics, Louie! I especially like the second one, for color, comp and and the sharpness of the lone center leaf!

TW, it's a project that our Hort Society started at the school where I taught...we took a sterile corner of the front lawn and transformed it into a Carolinian Oasis with 2 ponds a connecting stream and over 100 species of native plants....

here's a shot taken 2 weeks ago of the perimeter

They should'a kicked you out of that school long ago, Louie. Imagine how the campus would look by now! Very nice, especially with the changing colors

I like the color and bokeh in both shots, Louie.

Nice shot of the geese and Burning Bush, SJ. Bicycling is a great way to exercise and enjoy the parks and scenery. I suspect your camera is not in a protective case when you ride. I know I often take my smaller camera when we're hiking just so it's easier to carry around.

Our temps dipped low last night but not low enough to kill off the vegetation. Looks like one more cold night before things warm up just a little.
