a beautiful Sunday is in store for us as we try to reach 68 again today!
Leaves are mostly down on all trees around us as we try to do some more of our garden cleanup. I'm going to work on digging out the brugs today and potting them up for winter storage, take a Papyrus out of the pond, disconnect my streams and skim for fallen leaves in the pond...lots on my plate for the next couple of days and we may even break 70 tomorrow!!!!!
Really a nice capture, Bebop. We had one, yesterday sitting out by our hot tub, I suspect it was downwind to absorb the warmth. Didn't have the camera ready, so missed the shot!
I read your post just a little too quickly, Keith. I thought you said the rabbit was sitting out in your hot tub. Now that would be a pic. I suspect the water would be too deep, though. We used to have a pair of Mallards fly into our yard and when we started to feed them, they had even more reason to make daily visits. When neighbors put in an above ground pool the male Mallard seemed to think it was just for him and he always took a swim before flying over for the the food we provided. The female duck seemed quite annoyed with him and she would quack through the fence in annoyance.
Yesterday there was a limited window of opportunity to take a few frosty pics early on. With the trumpet vine, pineapple sage, and cleomes all affected, the garden landscape is looking empty. I even removed all the remaining strawflowers. The flowers still looked okay but the stems had been frostbitten.
We went over to Antero Reservoir this afternoon to see if there were any water birds still around. No success there... but it was another one of those amazing landscape afternoons. That dark Mountain off to the left center of this shot is "Black Mountain" right over the center of "Black Mountain", the first snow capped mountain, is "Sheep Mountain". On that line, halfway between Black Mountain, and Sheep Mountain is where DD and my Cabin is located. This is quite a view of the Mosquito Range of Colorado's Rocky Mountains

5 all the way. There are many shots of fly-away seed pods, but this one is set off by the terrific angle adn the focus being behind the front wave of fuzzy-wuzzies.
It does seem fewer do remember this date-A simplist thought, but perhaps content and happy Countries might help bring an end.
