Beautiful, sunny blossoms do start the day off right. It's been sunny and bright for days on end lately.
24 hours daylight continues even as we've lost 2 1/2 minutes already. The visiting gkids are keeping us on our toes:))

One from the park, a tree bowl. Rather old with a hole.

I"ve never heard that term either!

Hmm, I may be wrong. I've seen the term, it's either this or the hollow left when a tree is uprooted.

I've called it a knot too .... or a gnarl or burl.

cool tree...I see an old man's face in that knot!

As always, a nice collection of photos. Louie, we need your 'Sunny' Dark Amanda' close-up on the main page!

Nettie and I are off to Kansas City for the Royals-White Sox game Friday night, fireworks, and a KC steak dinner on the Fourth of July to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Yep, we got married on Independence Day.

Have a great & safe Fourth of July weekend, everyone. You too, Louie!

These guides are amazing. So much additional info that you would not know by just walking the grounds.
