today is the anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald, it sank in Lake superior in 1975. Gordon Lightfoot made this song an unforgettable piece of history as he tells the story of what probably happened to the 29 members aboard

the weather was incredibly windy, and cold then as the wind and waves tore the freighter apart.....today we will be enjoying 60 degree weather once again

hard to believe that something that big could sink, one of the freighters passing through here

What's not to like about Gordon Lightfoot's music! Interesting to learn he's a "local" Louie

It's cooler today and cloudy but still very pleasant for November. This little salamander was out enjoying the sun in the shallows of the pond on Sunday.

nice shot of him BP

we might get to mid 50s today....waiting for some sun to dry off the wet leaves I've raked into a huge pile in my driveway before I chop them up with my mulcher mower!

Nice Salamander shot, Bebop. We've never seen any of them up here, but suspect like frogs, they are everywhere.

Are there many salamanders?

Not this time of year. This was a brave one. They tend to show up as the water warms in the spring.

Where do they go in the winter? Do they hibernate?

I think so. They are like frogs.

Cute little fella! We are having a rainy day, too, thanks to "Ida", I believe. We need it.
Very warm here, too. Almost got to 80F today.
