Good morning everyone! Things are starting to warm up after a dip into the low 30s last night. It looks like some of the hardy garden survivors made it through another threat of a killing freeze. Tonight will be another late night watching TV as the Phillies battle the Yankees in Game 6 of the World Series. Go Phillies!
One praying mantis is still hanging on in the Abelia Grandiflora shrub near the sunroom window. This shrub is still blooming and is the most likely place for the mantis to get a decent meal. This is a shot from a few days ago. I spotted the mantis on the window frame yesterday but later when I came out with my camera he had gone undercover again.
Elections are over and the local incumbent commissioner in my township ward was defeated by 37 votes. His opponents had been playing dirty politics and I'm sad to see him voted out.
Nice shot, Louie... you can see the ebbing of the summer colors, with Jack Frost just around the corner.
Six years, since there has been a 6th game, "go Pedro" indeed! Let's get to Game 7!
Yes, I did have the camera on the manual focus setting, and attempted to focus around Hartsel (halfway between us and Pikes Peak)... as you can tell, Hartsel is not a very big town! I think it is a work in progress, just keep tinkering with it, and see how it all evolves. I did use the tripod, and the electronic (remote) shutter release. I did get to laughing so hard and the movements of the tweeties, in conjunction with my remote control expertise, to capture just the right "moment" for the shot that it was good I was using both!
twymwp~gorgeous photo of the PMantis. It certainly blends well w/foliage.
"jello" worms were a hit at the Halloween party. My "zombie" granddaughter loved them....
My daughter made them and they were soooo gross~ she combined cherry and lime jello; poured it into bendable straws, then squirted them out of the straws after the jello set up. Here's my grandson in front of the platter of "worms" and also eating one.
