An icon if ever there was one! Funny, as I passed by an old Coca-cola bottling plant on my way back from downtown Charleston last night and almost made a u-turn to take a shot of it. It's one of those with the logo carved in stone.

On the Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza, Italy are two tall 15th century columns, one topped by Jesus and another with a winged lion, a symbol of both St. Mark and Venice. Once controlled by Venice and sometimes referred to as 'Venice on terra ferma', Vicenza is a showcase for the magnificent architecture of native son architect Andrea Palladio.
