I wish more people would clean up after their dogs in my local park, too many people treat the parks as if they are one big doggie toilet! Keeping them on leases is an issue too - I've had a confrontation with one woman - she has a huge doberman that must weigh over 100 pounds and she just lets her dog run loose on the trails and he jumps around corners like he is going to lunge at you, maul you or at the very least, knock you over!

file a complaint...

we have a dog park here and lately the vice Mayor Burton made a dumb statement that our dog park should only be for resident dogs....raised some pretty interesting comments from area residents...one was that they should have a scale and weigh the dog going in and then weigh him going out and then charge a 'Burton Tax" on them...

I recently found this license plate in an old steamer trunk containing memorabilia that had belonged to my father. As he hadn't been born when this one was issued, I'm assuming it had belonged to my grandfather or great-grandfather. On the back of the plate credit is given to Brilliant Mfg. Co., Enameled Signs on Ridge Avenue, Phila, PA. I suppose the finish on the front is an attempt at faux wood. Too bad it's not in mint condition. As you can see there are some small chips in the enamel. Of course it is 97 years old so I guess that could explain it.

Superb catch. 5 I always like the way the nuthatches look like they were shorted in the tail department. Just proves a big rudder isn't necessary when you are good at navigation! [grin]
