Up until maybe last year, we used to go to see at least 1 movie each week, and sometimes a double on the weekend. Nowadays, though, we only go to the theater if it's something that is the type of thing you really want to see on the big screen, or something that looks so good that we don't want to wait.
I'm going to try to come up with my top ten favorite movies, before I go and look at Rok's. :) Back when I've done that.

Bebop, I rented it twice from our local store. I went in as soon as I heard they were closing to buy it, it was already gone.

Andy, that really does sound interesting. Looks like it's available from Netflix!

Has anyone seen King of Masks? Chinese, late 90s I think.
Set in the 1930s when a single mask maker tries to adopt a male child to pass on his skills. He unknowingly gets a girl.
This a serious and touching film that I recommend highly if you can find it.

We use Blockbuster by mail and return to a local store to pick up new movies. Like you, Bebop, we tend to be streaky--going through a particular actor, genre or time period before moving onto the next. Our next movie is Sgt York with Gary Cooper.

I love cinema and watch two, maybe three films a week (long live NetFlix). Listing my favorites would take a long, long time. I guess my taste runs to indies and foreign films although I just love great cinematic art, period. I do have favorite directors whose films I try to rent when they become available. Off the top of my head Mike Leigh, Woody Allen, Coen Brothers, Patrice Leconte, Michael Haneke, Jane Campion, some of Jim Jarmusch, John Cassavetes come to mind. We recently discovered Eric Rohmer and are working our way through his films.

Nice bird shot, GTO. It's a balmy 27 F here with bright sun. We may get an inch or two tomorrow but no brutal cold is expected. The Old Farmers Almanac may have been right about central US having a colder than normal winter.
