If you happen to listen to NPR, today's story on Leadville, Colorado and re-opening of the Climax mine, for Molybdenum mining...

We didn't get out of the 20s yesterday, darn windy too. Too cold to do much outdoors. Sarah missed her walk. Mid winter cold in November, grrrr...
It's up to freezing now but still windy. I'll have to add an extra layer for our walk.

Ahh, the weather! One of the subjects I grew up with. Dad and Mom were farmers. Among the issues farmers cry about is the weather. Where their farm was located it was not uncommon for the temps to dip to -35 in the winter, and up around 110 in the summer. And being farm boys we were out in it every day.

About the only thing I've learned about the weather as it affects me: I can put on enough clothes to keep warm, but I can't always take enough off, to be cool!

:-')

LOL. I came here to complain about daytime temps in the 30s. It gets chilly walking the dog.
I'm fine in winter as long as it's above 18 degrees. Single numbers is about as cold it ever gets here.
I remember a Christmas party at my aunts apartment in New Hampshire 20+ years ago. The high temp was 8, the furnace could barely keep up. I was concerned the entire 90 minute drive home. It was a toasty 12 in Massachusetts.

Nice bird shot, GTO. It's a balmy 27 F here with bright sun. We may get an inch or two tomorrow but no brutal cold is expected. The Old Farmers Almanac may have been right about central US having a colder than normal winter.
