Hmm, I may be wrong. I've seen the term, it's either this or the hollow left when a tree is uprooted.

One from the park, a tree bowl. Rather old with a hole.

Thanks for the nice coment on yesterday's pic I posted of the Amberwing. No, I didn't do anything to it but a little contrast adjustment.

The baby mantis.

I'm so excited.... I have a baby mantis on my berry plants. There may be more, but they are really tiny and hiding from predators. I was taking photos and could barely see it. It hopped away after I took a couple pics. I'll see if they are worth posting.

Hi, Andy. Thanks for the comments on the flower pic. Check out the video I added. I thought of Sarah and my dog Maggie. Maggie loved climbing up ladders and going down slides (Gar taught her). This looks like fun....the slide goes into the water and the dog retieves the frisbee too.

Thank you for your several kind recent comments, Andy. I value them. Yes, bloodroot is a wildflower, and is one of the earliest ones I see in Ohio. The petals aren't normally slightly recurved as they are on the flower in this picture; this flower wasn't fully open yet, and I liked it at this stage of its growth.

FYI: For some inexplicable reason, the album function is working for me again. Ah, the vagaries of cyberspace.

Thank you for your comments on my grass pink orchid flower and the robber fly picture, Andy. The grass pink orchid is a wildflower - as far as I know, it isn't rare, but it certainly isn't common, either. It's a pretty flower, and it's fun to photograph.

The Alaska album has been created by using my wife's laptop. I still haven't figured out what my issue is, but I'll let you know when (and if) I ever solve the puzzle. LOL.
