Thanks Al for explaining about the Coast Guard Station walkway.
It's been a few years since I was in Sturgeon Bay, but I don't remember that. You have a good eye for structures like that.

Do you have a Firepot and a Kelgai Ann? Golden Cloud has sprouted since my last lament. Where are you moving? I hope you will have lots of garden room. I can just imagine all the transplanting you will be doing.

Thank you. I'll give that a shot. I've just become more interested in night shots and my percentage of pleasing ones is rather low.

Welcome back! I really did miss you. My dahias are sprouting under lights. Firepot didn't make it, she shriveled up. Everybody else looked good has sprouted except for Kelgai Ann and Golden Cloud. But I remember last year that some took longer than others.

Hi, Al! Glad to see you posting today. I was just thinking about your earlier and wondering if you'd left us, or if something was wrong.
I am happy that neither seems to be the case!

Thanks for the nice comment on the bird photo.
BTW: Sorry if I've gotten you and John Ralph mixed up. You're thumbnail photo is so similar.

The photo I posted today is one of many of that type along Long Island's "Gold Coast". But there is no architectural style or theme that is carried through; these estates are all different ages, sizes and styles, a mishmosh of wealth and opulence!

No, I haven't been to Lyndhurst in Tarrytown. The place we visited on Long Island (Hempstead House) is similar in style to Lyndhurst, and in doing some research, I see that in fact Hempstead House was built by the son of one of Lyndhurst's occupants (Railroad tycoon Jay Gould lived in Lyndhurst from 1880-1892). His son Howard had Hempstead house built in 1912.

Yes, I'm still using Elements. It more than meets my needs. I will experiment with the infrared. I've tried it very occasionally with blah results.
I have mixed feelings about winter. It definitely presents the biggest challenge to me photographically. Also, I want to get my hands back in the dirt! I have most of my seeds now and will be starting some in a few weeks.

Finally doing something

As I warning I have my year long project done and will upload all 41 photos later tonight - just letting you know if you are worried about adding some photos before then and then have them buried by me right away.

Photo pileup

Summer is here and the new photos are piling up. My hard drive is screaming for me to do something and I'm not even editing half of them right now. Maybe the hot summer days inside will help - don't bet on it.LOL

Scenes from a mall

While looking for photos while working today at this outlet mall I found some urban nature. Not any great shots, but they go together in a set well.

Filled up my first album.

Not sure what the size limit is on albums here. I guess I have reached it with my winter one:
