neat idea Susan!! Over the river and thru the wood, Now the wood here would be in the Joshua Tree National Park which we toured yesterday...the tree to the right is one of the many Joshua Trees growing in this huge park !

Terry Fox Run 2009

Our little town of Tecumseh has been hosting one of the many worldwide Terry Fox Runs now for 19 years. This past weekend we raised more than $22, 914. The participants can choose a 2 km, 5km. or a 10 km (6mile) course with most taking the 5km route. To put things in perspective, the city of Windsor Run (population @ 20 times ours) raised @ $28,000. Way to go Tecumseh!

Humming Bird Banding

Last weekend we went to one of our prized jewels in Essex County, Ojibway Nature Center.

Carl Pascoe and his assistant in training were banding hummingbirds on site. It was a beautiful morning with lots of hummer activity and several feeders were present early that morning to attract them. Peche Island Visit

Peche island is a small 86 acre island owned by the City of Windsor that lies in the SW part of lake St. Clair. Lake St. Clair while not considered a Great Lake is part of the Great Lake System. Water from these Great Lakes travel south ward into Lake Erie, and then northward into Lake Ontario eventually flowing into the St. Lawrence River and into the Atlantic Ocean
