I haven't figured out what you're sorry for. The soft light works well with the softness of the snow. If you meant that you wanted it brighter, adding some brightness would give some super sparkle. Why not keep 2 from one click?

Lucie, I might have an idea of why your photos aren't staying corrected on Picasa. Could it be that you aren't SAVING your changes? I've forgotten to do that a couple of times, and if they aren't saved, the changes don't go into effect at all.
I'm pleased that you don't take my suggestions as anything negative, Lucie. I see some really nice things in your photos, and really want to do anything I can to help you learn how to improve them. I've had a great deal of help myself, so I owe other people the same thing.
I understand your not being willing psychologically yet to deal with snow and ice pictures, but when you are ready, you'll find fairly easy ways to work with that in your manual. Once you learn how to do it, it gets easier and easier (like most things), and you might find yourself changing the light adjustment in almost all of your pictures, depending on light conditions where you're shooting them.
Learning so many new things can be a little scary, but it's also exciting and fun, and I think that you'll enjoy your camera more and more, the more you learn. Just take it easy; learn to do just one thing at a time; and have great fun with your hobby! - Wildflowernut (Joyce)

Lucie, does your camera have a feature that helps you make a picture either brighter or darker? Both snow and sand can present real challenges in terms of brightness, and your snow pictures would both be so wonderful if they were just a bit brighter! It might be that you still have a manual explaining your camera's features, and if you do, that manual would probably let you know how to take pictures with a lot of snow or sand in them. Or, if you've learned how to do this, pictures can be brightened or darkened with computer programs. I hope you don't mind this suggestion; I just think that the picture of the chair in particular would look very special if it were a bit brighter! Let me know if I'm off base, Lucie. I don't want to be offensive, just hoping to be helpful! - Wildflowernut

Thank you, Lucie, for your comments on "Summertime Memories". It's good to hear that surrealism can be achieved in photography.
