Thanks you for the Thanksgiving greetings, Cheryl! I'm having ham today, since turkey never was one of my favorites! Just one guest, but that's okay - it'll be nice.

Well seen! The inclusion of the nice sky seems to emphasize the ruins, which you took from a really nice angle.

The dust gives this a subtle, pleasing look.

Hi Joyce, thanks for your comments, as always. In "Off the Bike Path" those bikes belong to my DH and me. Thanks for the "young couple" reference - that is greatly appreciated! LOL! But we didn't make the carving!

Thanks for your supportive comments as always!
As for the shot of me "On the Rocks" that shot isn't a crop, but the way the my hubby took it, so there's not much more I can do with it. But here is another shot he also took, that gives a tad more of the view that I am looking at - I think there was a shoal out there, but none of the shots he took included that part of the view. This may even be a better shot than the other one - I just hadn't gotten to editing this one until now:

Hi Joyce..the place is called Erddig Hall its about a 5 minute drive from my house....it used to be the ancestral home of the Yorke family who were big landowners in the town a couple of centuries ago....I can remember when I was a child the last surviving lord used to ride into the town on an old pennyfarthing bicycle wearing tweed breeches and a deerstalker hat!!! the hall is owned by the National Trust now and is open to the public in the summer Google it and the Yorke family of Wrexham....if you would like to find out a bit more...cheers for your comments and interest

there goes the neighborhood...soon, after landing their craft, the WFN1000, they were all captured and used as forced labor on the X-Files television program, until the show was later canceled. after that they took their small earnings and hitch-hiked to lancaster, OH. where they were to live happily to this day near there new found friend, joyce. (you asked : D ) thanks for stopping by. WFN..

Thanks for the comment on my Mourning Dove. We are just now seeing the first Chipping Sparrows, which are generally our harbinger of first frost coming. We rarely see juncos, and I dearly love those little things.
I'll see if I can get a nice C. Wren pic for ya.

Hi Joyce, Thanks so much for your comments on my shots , as always much appreciated. The flower is Anemone x hybrida ' Honorine Jobert ',it will probably flower away here for another couple of weeks, if the weathers kind.

Thanks, Joyce, for your comments on "Early Morning Banana." Yes! It's the subtle glistening and the wonderful morning window light that I really wanted "preserved" in the still life photo. To be honest, I'm finding still life a bit challenging (meaning, I'm discarding more photos than I normally do)... Perhaps, I'm not a natural still Life photographer.

Thank you, Joyce, for your comments on "Ornate Lamp Shade Vase". It has been a tedious post-process (5 different exposures "fusion/blending" in Photomatix HDR; skipped tone mapping as I was really getting abysmal results) to get the "just perfect" exposures of highlights and dark areas. I've spent so much time just for this photo! FYI, this was all from a single window light source (no artificial light/no flash) with a lot of dodging in the background! No cropping.

Is still-life photography really this hard?

So pleased that you could open it and glad you liked the pics. Putting a story to it was the hard part.

Palm Springs is a nice town to walk. I like all the sidewalk restaurants with the heaters so you can eat out, even in winter.
