There are three new osprey chicks just hatched this week at the Marine Nature Study Area, a nearby marine wildlife preserve in Oceanside, NY that Bob and I enjoy visiting often!  They have an "Osprey Cam" set up, which recorded the first few seconds for each new chick.  Here is the third, and final chick, just hatched on 5/22, being fed by his parents, along with his two tiny siblings, hatched 5/18 and 5/20. Click…

I just got rid of Rose who seems to have been bothering a lot of members.  Don't reply to her with your email!

These babies multiplied again, so I have a handful to share if you'd like.

Dash Cam Video

 

If I've done this right, the above link is to a 4 minute video from our local police.  This occurred earlier this week here in the town where I live.  A shoplifting suspect assaulted a police officer, ignored being tazered,  and stole his car; drove it about 3 miles until he crashed it, after blasting past a school and through a few intersections.

For any animal lovers out there - - if you have an opportunity to see the IMAX movie "Born To Be Wild" (about elephant orphans in Kenya and orangutan orphans in Brneo), thoe are some of the same orangutans that I volunteer with and photograph.
