Newly Hatched Osprey Chicks

There are three new osprey chicks just hatched this week at the Marine Nature Study Area, a nearby marine wildlife preserve in Oceanside, NY that Bob and I enjoy visiting often!  They have an "Osprey Cam" set up, which recorded the first few seconds for each new chick.  Here is the third, and final chick, just hatched on 5/22, being fed by his parents, along with his two tiny siblings, hatched 5/18 and 5/20. Click…

Anyone want Colocasia Illustris?

See my town at high speed

If I've done this right, the above link is to a 4 minute video from our local police.  This occurred earlier this week here in the town where I live.  A shoplifting suspect assaulted a police officer, ignored being tazered,  and stole his car; drove it about 3 miles until he crashed it, after blasting past a school and through a few intersections.


The entire thing was caught on the police…

E-Mail notifications

Many of you know I have not been receiving notifications of any activity from DP for many months.

A work-around has been proposed which may correct this but it may also give all members a new option. It's in BETA stage for testing. It allows us to get e-mails daily rather than instantly.
