Daily Pics

Our states movie tax incentives keep drawing in big films. The latest is a Tom Cruise / Cameron Diaz film tentatively called Wichita with a scene of a plane crash in a local corn field. Large pieces of a 747 fuselage were brought in and the neighbors were notified. This local news story summarizes it, watch the video.
In addition, Plymouth Rock Studios just got financing for a huge 14 sound stage film production facility. We may not be making Polaroids or Velcro any more but you'll be seeing us on the screen aplenty.

Wow, Andy, maybe you can get some kind of work there. Did you see the explosion?

I considered going but it was not worth staying up all night. Bridgewater is 15 minutes southeast of us, a rural farming and bedroom community.
A couple streets in Boston are closed for shooting the same film today. It's scheduled for release July 4th 2010.
This is the third major film shooting locally this year.

That explosion must have been something.

My Boston sister, a real movie fan, had told me recently about all the movie business going on in Boston and surrounding areas. She seemed a little disappointed that she hasn't had any celeb sightings. When she lived in Princeton and "A Beautiful Mind" was being filmed on campus she tried out for one of the extra parts but didn't get it. When she lived in San Diego the house across the street was used in the TV show "Veronica Mars" and she was able to catch lots of the action without leaving home.

Although I rarely catch more than one or two films a year, I'm still waiting for "The Lovely Bones" to come out. Lots of it was shot in my area.

state of Michigan is also dropping big $$ to get films done there...there are also plans in the works for a large movie multi million $$$$ production company, and Drew Barrymore directed Wip It across the river in Michigan recently....
