Thank you, Keith, for your comments on "Las Vegas Night Frenzy". I set the camera to aperture-priority program and set it to the lowest f/stop; the slow shutterspeed set at 1/4 sec... or so.
Thanks for your comments bout my photos, Keith. I sure do love that long lens--one of the best photo investments I've made. We had a wonderful time on our Chadron-Custer-Rusmore-Badlands adventure. There was scenic beauty everywhere. I must admit, however, that as a fella who came to Nebraska from Vermont, it took me awhile to appreciate the natural beauty out here in The Heartland. Thank you, again.
Thanks for your comments and insights about my photos of South Dakota. We had a wonderful time during our fairly short visit. It won't be as long between trips to the Black Hills this time around.
Just an FYI: if you want another friend on Facebook, please send me a friend request (Susan Asis Kalman). I've been looking for you since you mentioned at lunch that you were on it, but haven't had any success finding you as yet....!
I know just what you mean about now being able to attach a personality to the Daily Pics posts! It was totally our pleasure to meet you guys.... and I wouldn't have suggested it if I hadn't already gotten a good feeling that we had alot in common and that it would be an enjoyable meeting :)
Seems I may have done myself a disservice by choosing "bugs" as I am now in Seattle, and most of my own bug shots are at home on my external hard drive.... but I will enjoy it vicariously through everyone else's contributions!

There is a wonderful and large scenic railway, 10 or so art galleries, a newly restores early 1800's opera house and it offers a full venue of performances. There are several good restaurants for comfort food. It's the home of the Rocky Boot Factory. Hocking College is a national leader in forestry, equine science, and has the 3rd ranked culinary arts curriculum inthe US. All this in a little town with 4, maybe 5 traffic lights. It's in Southern Ohio, just north of Athens, the home of Ohio University.
I'm laughing at those Avocets. Yep. They, too, got the memo about posing for Keet. ;-> They have very nicely patterned rear-views, though. Well done, catching them so sharply.
Keet, I believe it's Montana that calls itself "Big Sky Country", but after seeing those last two shots you posted on the daily thread yesterday, I think that name belongs to South Park. :) Amazing shots!
This photo of wild crab apples ~ poet food. A beautiful allegory of Ambition - both hopeful and thwarted. While energized by the broad sweeping curves and attempts at fullness and colour, we are humbled by bearing witness to the ultimate results of…
