Thanks, nap! Actually, I was shocked. There were a lot of really fine photos there.

Thanks for the kind words, Nancy. Oddly, the "winners" were not the ones I thought were my best entries (not that I'm complaining). :)

My dad was there several times and made glowing reports. It's on my list. I'm just sorry he isn't here any longer to go with me.

Thanks for your comments. The clarity on the honeybee is just patience and luck. I set my camera on super macro and take a million shots until I get the right one. I also play around with the light, contrast and cropping when I edit. I've found these guys are so absorbed in their flowers, they really don't care that I am so close with my camera.

Oh yeah, I love horses, the picture "Hey" is of my horse Lucky. I may be over 60, but I love to ride, so relaxing.

I've thought about RedBubble, looked at the sight, and am impressed with the quality of work. But, I really don't want to spend any more time on my computer than I do with this site which is small and sort of like family. I'm just an amateur sharing photos with these guys. I'm so glad to see you posting here. I love your work!

Hello Nancy,

Just wanted to thank you for the lovely comments you left on some of my work. I can see you are a fan of colour and your vision for still life, the composition and lighting is amazing. Keep on pressing the shutter, you have a talent. x

Couldn't have been in Buffalo, Nancy - I've never even visited that part of New York. It was somewhere in Ohio, but I really just can't remember where. Senior Moment.

Thanks for the Friend invitation, Nancy. I'm going to enjoy being your friend - love your photos, especially the abstract of the chairs (but you also have posted some other excellent shots!)

Thank you, Nancy. I think the more we train ourselves to make accurate comments on others' work, the more we can accurately evaluate our own, which I think is the most difficult part of photography.

Thanks for your comments on my photos. My photobucket account isn't really active right now, I haven't been using it in a while. Nice to see you here again!

Back then it was called Buffalo General. That's also where I was born.

Last month I was in Gainesville, Florida ath the rainforest at the U of F. I will be putting up some pictures from there one of these days.

I used to get back quite regularly, but most of the folks have passed away or moved off. I do want to get up to see a cousin sometime rather soon. I haven't seen Buffalo Zoo since I was a kid. My dad worked there part-time while he was getting his MS at University of Buffalo. He also operated the first radiation therapy machine at the hospital.

Thanks for the friend invitation.
